Pink & Grey Safari Baby Shower

Today's featured party comes from Stephanie at Creating Coutoure Parties. It is a Baby Sprinkle with a chic safari theme. I love that she used a non-traditional, but very creative color scheme of grey and pink . Together, those two colors evoke feelings of peace & relaxation. She used lots of unique touches throughout the decor. Check out her post for more pictures with details.

Want to Change Your Font On Your Blog?

I LOVE cute fonts & for months, I had been trying to find a way to change the font on my blog. I found a tutorial on Kevin and Amanda's blog that changed the post title fonts, but it was too complicated for me. So, then I went to The Cutest Blog on the Block and they have the html code to change the font, however, I wasn't totally pleased with any of their font selections. So, I altered the code to get the font I wanted. Here's what to do...

1. Choose one of the fonts on the cutestblogontheblock site & copy the code to your blog. In Layout, click Add a Gadget, then HTML/Java Script, & paste the code.
2. Then, copy and paste the code into a Word document.
3. Next, use your find and replace option to find all the places that says the font name (ex. comic sans) then replace them with the name of your font choice. Hint: Try Kevin and Amanda for the cutest fonts!
4. Lastly, back in Blogger Layout, find your same gadget and paste your new code. You will have an "I changed my font link" added to your blog, but that is a small price to pay for a cute new blog makeover.

If this tutorial was helpful, please leave me a comment.

Valentine's Day Surprise

This year, I decided to surprise my husband with his own Valentine's Day Superman party! A few months ago, I read about a Superman father's day breakfast here on Kara's Party Ideas blog. I loved Kara's idea & was so inspired that I made my own Super-Valentine's party pack {which will be available in my etsy shop soon}. Sam had been away on a business trip the night before which gave the perfect opportunity to get everything ready. However, if you're prone to nervous breakdowns {like I am}, I don't recommend doing this with an almost 2-year-old who insists on "helping" with everything from the cooking to the balloons ;)!

I made all three of us t-shirts with iron-ons. Sam's said "Super Dad," mine said, "Super Happy Wife," & Noah's said, "Super Happy Boy."

I made a banner using the Superman logo shape that said "We love our Super Dad!"

I hung red, yellow, & blue balloons on the light fixture.

On the menu: Metropolis Mac n' Cheese, Man of Steel Meatloaf, Hero Baked Beans, Red Cape Breadsticks, & Clark Kent Cupcakes {I made menu cards too!}

{Notice Sam's card from Noah on top!}

One super-happy family

My favorite picture of Noah from the night
I loved how everything turned out, Sam was definitely surprised, & we all had a super-fun night! Thank you, Kara, for the inspiration!

I'm so glad to finally share the pictures of the party I have been helping with for the past few weeks. My neighbor & good friend, DeeDee, hosted a first birthday party for her sweet baby girl, Lyndee. I offered to help with the paper goods & she took me up on the offer.

DeeDee decided on a ladybug theme because Lyndee's nickname is "Love Bug." Lyndee is DeeDee's third child & the only girl. Since she has been planning boy parties for 7 years, it was only appropriate that Lyndee have a pink, girly, & sweet party!

Tractor Baby Shower

Today's featured party comes from Laura at Luci-isms. She hosted an awesome picnic-themed baby shower for her friend, with the main motif being a tractor. Since my little guy LOVES tractors, it immediately caught my eye. The color palette, use of natural elements, & beautiful decor make this a baby shower to remember. Check our her blog for mor details & pictures. Thank you, Laura, for sharing your creativity with us!
