Nifty Fifty Party

Today is my Aunt Tanya's 50th birthday! My family celebrated at my Memaw's house with a delicious Chicken 'n Dumpling Dinner, a Blackberry Pie, & cookies.

For her party, I created my "Shabby Nifty Fifty" party pack. Like me, Aunt Tanya is a shabby chic fan, so it is pink & black with toile and polka dots. I made napkin rings, drink cup labels, a birthday banner, door sign, and a customized birthday party hat for the birthday girl! Check out the photos below of our nifty fifty party!

I used my Rachel Ashwell shabby chic tablecloth to set the tone. Then, we got square pink paper plates, black plastic cups with my "50" cup labels, black napkins with my pink toile napkin rings, and the new cool plastic silverware that looks like sterling silver (i love those)!

the Birthday Girl's chair

I decorated Aunt Tanya's chair with a pink tulle bow with a pink fabric flower in the middle. I also made her a party hat. I learned how from a tutorial on the "Such Pretty Things" blog here.

the hat
I used pink polka-dot scrapbook paper, a black craft boa for the trim, and a black curly ribbon for the top. I replaced the elastic with cute black polka-dot ribbon.

the door sign
My Mom & I went at 11:00 pm to put this on my aunt's front door along with some balloons, and some signs along the road (we're so mean :)

the delicious Blackberry pie that my Memaw made
I made cake toppers using my slogan for the party. I attached the punches to bright pink straws instead of lollipop sticks.
Make a wish!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Tanya! I hope it was a memorable one!! ;)

Blog Makeover

Hello & welcome to my new and improved blog. I have been blog hopping all day and have fallen in love with the many many incredibly beautiful crafty blogs out there. So today, my blog make-over is complete and I LOVE how it turned out! If you like my blog, grab my new button (I finally figured out how to make one & I'm so proud of myself)! I'm off to make some cute 50th birthday party stuff for my Aunt's birthday this week. She loves shabby chic like me, so I created a pink and black shabby chic 50th birthday party. My "Shabby Nifty Fifty" party pack will be available on Etsy soon! Here's a preview!

This will soon become a door sign!

Retro Christmas Party Sneak Peek

My Wedding Belles partner, Jenny, & I are hosting a retro Christmas party the first weekend in December. I got the idea for the theme when I saw a set of Christmas dishes called "Santa's Diner." So, our invitations have been sent and I can now show you those. Check back for more details of this retro-fabulous party!

Each Friday, we will pirouette (twirl) through an amazing party that I have stumbled upon online. Our first party pirouette was originally posted by Kara of Kara's Party Ideas.

The entire party was so creative and inspirational! She hosted a Dr. Seuss baby shower for her friend. She devoted a table to each of several Dr. Seuss books such as Horton Hears a Who, Green Eggs and Ham, Cat in the Hat, & One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Since I am a Kindergarten teacher, this theme is dear to my heart. You can read more details about this sensational seussical party here.
